First Call for Papers
The Fifth North American Duck Symposium and Workshop
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
17-21 August 2009
Today, perhaps as never before, waterfowl management faces significant challenges that result still from key scientific uncertainties about the effects of important drivers of duck population change in fast-changing ecological and social arenas.
Long Point Waterfowl and the University of Guelph are pleased to invite you to NADS5 at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada from 17 – 21 August 2009. The theme of the meeting is “Duck Ecology and Management in a Changing World”.
Previous, highly successful duck symposia and workshops have been held in the north, south and west of North America, in key breeding and wintering regions for ducks. We invite you to the Great Lakes Basin, one of North America’s premiere staging and migration stopover regions.
Various organizers have stepped to the plate to offer an exciting array of plenary sessions, which will be augmented by contributed papers and posters. Visit the new NADS website at www.northamericanducksymposium.org for information about the scientific program, instructions for abstract submission, awards for student travel and presentations, making arrangements for side meetings and/or workshops, and accommodations. The website is still evolving, and further details will be forthcoming.
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. We hope to see you in Toronto in August!
