CHEATHAM COUNTY WMA
Wetlands Enhancement

Purpose: To enhance 300 acres of waterfowl habitat on Cheatham County WMA through construction of levees, installation and/or replacement of water control structures, and construction of a water distribution system, thus increasing wetland area and improving water management capabilities on the area. Cheatham County WMA is a very popular public waterfowl hunting area and attracts numerous waterfowl species including mallards, gadwall, black ducks, and Canada geese. TWRA manages most of the area for waterfowl hunting, with controlled access via annual blind drawings. The area is managed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to provide quality wintering habitat for waterfowl and offer additional waterfowl hunting opportunities.

Location: The project is located in Cheatham and Dickson Counties approximately 20 miles northwest of Nashville, TN.
