DU plays key role in developing New Jersey’s “Team Habitat”

Delaware Bay—In conjunction with Ducks Unlimited’s Delaware Bay Initiative, DU is truly “going the extra mile” within the watershed in southern New Jersey. For the past year, DU field staff have played a critical role in leading “New Jersey Team Habitat,” a joint venture between DU, South Jersey Resource Conservation & Development Council, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), USFWS, NJDFW, Pheasants Forever and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

While DU has already protected or restored nearly 11,000 acres of wetlands and associated habitats in New Jersey, partnering with other conservation organizations under the name “Team Habitat” will assist DU in reaching more private landowners interested in restoring wetlands and adjacent uplands on their property.
