Ballard Wildlife Management Area
Goose Pond Ridge Project
Purpose: This project provides shallow water feeding and resting habitat for wintering and migrating waterfowl in the center of Ballard WMA. By constructing two levees and installing a 24 inch gate valve and one drain riser that allows for precise drainage, we improved water level management capabilities. Field teams planted enhanced areas with row crops to provide high energy food for waterfowl.
