ROANOKE RIVER WETLANDS
Rogerson Tract Acquisition

Purpose: To acquire and protect 253 acres of wetland and upland habitats along the Roanoke River. The purpose of this project was to add additional acreage to the NC Wildlife Resources Commission Game Lands Program. This project provides hunting opportunities and is managed by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Location: The project lies along Conoho Creek in Martin County approximately 4 miles north of Oak City, NC.

Acres Impacted: 253 acres

Habitat Types: Open Agricultural Lands
Pine - Mixed Hardwoods Uplands
Bottomland Hardwoods along Conoho Creek

Partners: North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission

Timeline: Acquisition was completed in fall 1992
